Nuclear Medicine Residents

Kiflom Gebreslassea, M.D.
Kiflom Gebreslassea, M.D., is training in nuclear medicine, molecular imaging and theranostics. He completed his specialist training in nuclear medicine at Stellenbosch University in South Africa, where he gained extensive experience in advanced molecular imaging and theranostics. Prior to joining Saint Louis University School of Medicine, he practiced at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya, where he was involved in clinical service, research and resident education.
Gebreslassea's professional interests include PET/CT, radionuclide therapy and translational research aimed at improving diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes. He is committed to advancing evidence-based practice, academic collaboration and global nuclear medicine development.

Mahdi Zadeh, M.D.
Mahdi Zadeh, M.D., chose to train at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital because of the strong sense of support he felt from the department leadership — particularly Program Director Medhat Osman, M.D. — who genuinely value residents' prior experiences and backgrounds. Zadeh appreciates that the program offers an exceptional variety of cases: "In addition to PET scans, there is a wide range of general nuclear medicine studies. Being one of the major academic medical centers in the Midwest further enhances the diversity and complexity of cases encountered. Moreover, the opportunity to cover studies from affiliated centers such as SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - St. Louis broadens the clinical exposure and enriches the overall experience."

Zahraa Abdulameer, M.D.

As a proud member of a leading clinical team, he has contributed to groundbreaking national clinical trials that have advanced innovative therapies for cancer, including prostate and neuroendocrine malignancies. Al-Sagheer's collaborative efforts continue to shape progress in the field of nuclear medicine and patient care.
