Saint Louis University’s Center for Social Action promotes many forms of community engagement, from episodic service to more in-depth involvement. This list of one-time volunteer opportunities will help SLU students, faculty or staff make a difference based on your schedule and interests. Many are perfect for groups.

Metropolitan Congregations United

What: Volunteers are needed to assist with a historical archiving project, helping us pull together various materials from the past 30 years to tell our organization's story via video and graphics.

The Community Wellness Project

What: Volunteers are needed for our recurring "All Tea No Shade" psychosocial support gathering — a facilitated space for open conversation and community connection. Kids Enjoy Exercise Now (K.E.E.N.)

What: Volunteers are needed to work with children who have developmental disabilities with various swimming activities and games (staff supervised). Swimming is held in the leisure pool, so no swimming proficiency is required.
When: Sessions available 5 - 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 25

Home Works

What: Volunteers are needed for our Family Learning Workshop, where families and teachers work together to strengthen the home-school connection. Volunteers help with event setup, assist families to rooms and activities as needed, take photos, record brief parent and teacher testimonials, assist with cleanup, and help create a welcoming, engaging environment throughout the event.
When: 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28

Arch Grants

What: Volunteers are needed for the annual neXus Gala, Arch Grants' signature annual event, bringing together 900+ entrepreneurs, investors, civic leaders, and community members to celebrate innovation in St. Louis. Help with check-in, logistics, sessions, and more! Training provided, and all volunteers will receive a t-shirt and a complimentary dinner.
When: Shifts available anytime 3 - 9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 30
