One-Time Volunteer Opportunities

Saint Louis University’s Center for Social Action promotes many forms of community engagement, from episodic service to more in-depth involvement. This list of one-time volunteer opportunities will help SLU students, faculty or staff make a difference based on your schedule and interests. Many are perfect for groups.

Cardinal Glennon Children's Foundation

What: Volunteers are needed the annual Glennon Golf Classic to support the Music Therapy Program at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. Assist with all aspects of the event, including set-up the day prior.
When: Anytime 1 p.m. - 4 p.m, Thursday, May 7 (set-up) or anytime 6 a.m. - 4 p.m., Friday, May 8 (event)

Girls on the Run St. Louis

What: Volunteers are needed for our Spring 5K, the end of season celebration for all of our GOTR teams in the St. Louis region. With 7,000+ participants expected at this event, we will need the support of over 200 volunteers in a variety of roles on race day. Great opportunity for individual and group volunteers!

Vision for Children at Risk

What: Volunteers are needed for the annual Children's Mental Health Day, a celebration with youth on the importance of staying well. Help with activities, entertainment, booths and more!
When: Anytime 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday, May 9

Tower Grove Park

What: Volunteers are needed for Plant It Forward, a biannual campaign that engages the community in helping to maintain the beautiful display beds in Tower Grove Park. In addition to providing necessary work for the park, volunteers will learn firsthand the types of plants in our display beds, how to tend to these plants, and take some plants home each volunteer day.
When: 9 a.m. - 11 a.m., May 12, 14, 19, 21, 26 and 28

What: Volunteers are needed for our Taste of Tequila, Splash of Charity fundraising event, helping with all aspects.

Gateway Down Syndrome Association  

What: Volunteers are needed for our therapeutic playgroup sessions with youth ages 3-8 who have Down syndrome, helping with games, therapies and other activities.

St. Louis Children's Hospital Cerebral Palsy Sports Program

What: Volunteers are needed for the annual Cerebral Palsy Family Day, an event for families of children with motor disabilities to enjoy the Missouri Botanical Garden. Assist with activities, educational sessions, monitoring play areas, and more!
When: Anytime 4 p.m. - 8 p.m., Sunday, June 7

St. Louis Children's Hospital Cerebral Palsy Sports Program  

What: Volunteers are needed for our Camp Indepedence - help with our summer day camp, engaging children with Cerebral Palsy in a variety of activities, sports, and other educational and recreational programming.
When: Any weekday June 8 thru July 24, 8:30am-4pm (shifts available)
