Office of Student Affairs

The Office of Student Affairs provides guidance, support and administrative assistance to all of our medical students. Staff maintain an open-door policy and are available to answer questions and offer support.

The office coordinates important events such as the first-year orientation, the annual White Coat Ceremony and various commencement activities. The office also acts as a liaison to faculty and administration, and it assists with academic advising and personal counseling.

Other areas of responsibility of the office include, but are not limited to:

Coordinating second-year convocation
Coordinating fourth-year convocation
Overseeing career advising services for students in all years
Overseeing student-run organizations
Supervising the election of class officers
Advising students on research opportunities
Participating in the writing of medical student performance evaluations/dean's letters
Overseeing the distribution of student awards given at graduation
Guiding students interested in rotations/electives in foreign countries
Scheduling town hall meetings with the dean, the dean's staff and interested students
Supporting students eligible for military reimbursements
